  • The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient.
To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith. Patience,
patience, patience, is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty,
open, choiceless as a beach–waiting for a gift from the sea.

  • That little shell there, what do you guys call that?

In NZ, we call them by the Maori name Kina – or sea egg. They are eaten fresh from the sea, still covered in spikes split in half and slurped up straight from the shell.

    :heartbeat: beautiful shot though.

  • Beautiful…the picture and the words.

  • Enjoyed today’s entry. I thought I would let you know I’ve made some entries on my site after being absent for a few months. Hope to see you there.

  • Kina – now that’s an intense seafood experience!

  • wow–great shiny texture.  slippery…and the green thingy (just call me jacque cousteau) casts a perfect shadow in its perfect place.

  • My god, you are talented. I’m so glad you stopped by my site. I’m subbing to you, I must!

In Newfoundland, they call those sea urchins “‘ose eggs”. I don’t know why… but that picture recalled that to me, so thank you.

  • Hey Molly, sorry I’ve been scarce, but I’m working on something big. (no pun).

Just wanted to pop over to say your comments crack me up and the AMF has a crush on you.

  • :sunny:Naturally you captured my interest with the seaweed and sand, but then AML’s words jumped out at me, taking me straight to the seashore with her.  No sea urchins on our beach, but remember the little sea life we’d find in the seaweed?    :( Oh, to live at the beach again….

 Hope you’re having a good time on your birthday trip.
