last time i went camping with my gf we set our tent up with the door (almost) against a huge old gum tree. we had a couple of feet spare to get past it, but that’s it. there is nothing better than looking out of the tent and onto the trunk of a huge old tree. that pic was my view.
Nice pic.
…I’ve learned that the shadow is sometimes just as important as the real thing…
“, said Abe Lincoln when asked what he thought about George Washington and the whole cherry tree incident.
(Abe is my favorite president, The Gettysburg Address is one of my favorite writings, and I have a wee bit of a crush on the man. What is it with me and crushes on dead men? Shhh. I didn’t say that.)
Nice!:) … and I like your tree quote better!
Very cool! As usual!!
Coolness…great contrast. I love B&W pics. :fun:
Taken at Yosemiti? Very nice. You inspire me. :heartbeat:
beautiful….
“Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny.” (Tryon Edwards)
thanks for the thought…
I like black and white. Why is that? There’s really hardly any black or white.

abe dug trees. i like the bright white light.
How true! We only see parts of people and we think we know them.
The tree is the real thing…and that lovely bark in your photo looks like the texture of our experiences.
ever go to someone’s xanga and say “i wish i could do that”?
that’s me…right now.
hmm.. it reminds me of an elephant for some reason
I’d never heard that analogy before, but it is sure a good one.
A perfect match of quote & photo. That tree looks so solid & sturdy, the surroundings fascinating in it’s minutae.
amen to both photo and quote, cherie. trust you are well and the show went splendidly *soft smile*
