Their story, yours and mine – it’s what we all carry with us on this trip we take, and we owe it to each other to respect our stories and learn from them. Author Unknown

  • Imagine how many stories… joyous, sad, terrifying, comforting, harrowing… a great photo and quote!

  • Always good to be reminded of that.  Blessings abound

  • blue highways, huh? vacancy indeed. not even an optionally illuminated. ”NO”.

  • Now THIS is a prime example of how a picture is definitely worth a thousand words, isn’t it? Fabulous!!! ~ Jeanne

  • cool old sign. love that worn out paint and the rust. makes an interesting subject.

  • What a great sign!!

  • Someone should write up the stories….bet there are a thousand…no, ten thousand.

  • *along highway 41* is a fabulous photo. i have one i rather love i took back in the mid-80s this reminds me of, i just don’t have any way to post pics on my computer right now.

  • Sooooo, it makes me curious to know if there is a Dad’s Diner?

  • Excellent – I love the retro design of the sign, and you’ll never find a better name for a motel. Besides, the wear of years of neglect give it a very interesting new aspect that kinda clashes with the very idea the sign’s trying to get across. Freakin excellent, thanks for posting it!

  • I love signs like this.  There used to be one along I-81 that said “DINER” but it has since been torn down.  I miss driving past it.

  • what a great find… i have a thing for old signs of this sort.

i like MlleRobillards comment.. if only walls could talk.

    be well,

  • It’s too bad all the neon is broken.    What a sight it must have been when new!    I love the old highways with their retro signs, old “motor courts”, and diners.    It takes me back to my childhood.

As for the quote, it does go well with the image.   Stories, all in memories in our heads.
