I’ll meet you there in five. I’ll bring tea if you’ll bring an umbrella.
i see an old man waiting patiently for his love to come walking by. he has an old, brown 8-cornered hat on and a cane resting next to him. he waits as the rain falls gently and the wind swirls the leaves at this feet…
beautiful photo. it gives me warmth…
a beautiful photograph, and the quote as always, is most fitting, and so very true.
hugs,
D.

wow I feel a million dreams rising from that bench a thousand seasons I *smile*
I dunno… I’ve found me a most companionable companion and her name ain’t Solitude no more…
Hugs, my sis

I can feel the light rain on my face,, not enough to chase me inside as i stroll around. ,,, i can’t seem to bring myself to clear the bench of the lovely leaves….so i keep walking… glancing back to get one last look….

be not simply good…be good for something.
so perfect that you’d just want to sit down beside it.
do you have a book with all your photographs, one that i can purchase? if not, you should get one made. ~ jack
Oh, how I disagree! Solitude means being alone with YOURSELF! I am not such great company!
:heartbeat:,
RYN: Yah. I bought it at Starbucks this morning! Love it!!!
Have a great weekend, M!
if only we could each experience the hermit life he led on golden pond, beautiful pic…thanks, april
I like how the leaves on the bench almost play with your mind and make you think the bench is blending in with the background… And I also agree with the quote… Good work!

At first glance it looked as though the leaves were flames.:giggle: Beautiful–autumn leaves are the best.
Reminds me of fall last year – when life is wonderful with companionship
An alien would never think such brilliant words could come from a human mouth.

I’m still learning to accept solitude…
solitude is underrated; it is a lost art. thanks for the glimpse into what could be.
What a lovely image–it evokes so much emotion.
There was once a poet who came to a writing conference at my University. She wrote a poem about a bench. If only she could see this photo…how deeply she would be touched.
Great photo of a lost but important art.
Glad I’m not the only xangan in the 40s although I usually never tell that….. great pictures !!!!
This is a beautiful photograph, and the Thoreau quote is its perfect mate. Wonderful!
I’ll admit it. I’ve been horrible at checking in on pics lately. It’s nothing personal, and coming in here today only proves what an idiot I’ve been. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen something above this one previously.
The umbrella was appealling in an engineering, technical kind of way (which isn’t a bad thing, but not necessarily what I usually see here).
This photo though…
This is another one that I could sit and take in for a little while. In fact, I did.
