We bury with many different emotions. Rarely with intimations of mortality. ‘Buried’ is the ultimate separation of them and us. As other’s lives are often only dreams to us, so also others’ deaths. Josephine Hart
I, myself, would like to be burned on a funeral pire. You?
:heartbeat:,
Wow…what a stark, yet moving picture.
Oh, you have to know that this is something that I would have snapped as well! You do, don’t you?
One of my favorite places to go and photograph, as well as just wander and think are cemeteries. I happened upon one this weekend in fact… probably my next post will be something from the excursion. Love the photo.. (as always, you’re brilliant)….

This is profound, photo/caption, really giving me something to think about… xoxo ps I love that new photo of you!
the last line of that qoute is thought provoking.:)
How appropriate for Ash Wednesday. I just got home from a Communion service where I received the reminder of our mortality.
No burial for me, only a little box of ashes. The photo is stark and thoughtful. I love graveyards too. Especially the really old ones.
old cemetaries hold so many tales…
this is so true. there are indeed so many things we bury. beautifully chosen quote. it’s been awhile since i’ve seen such a great one.
We bury our feelings often. As far down in the soil of our mind and hearts as we can.
I adore this quote.

What a strange little corner of the world. Nice.
btw. Awesome profile pic!
Nice shot but the building look a bit out of place like it is too new or something. Just my view.
that looks like where I’d expect my great-grandmother to be buried.
I like this image. Lots. And the profile pic. Striking.
And one kiss is better than none, no?
love the quote
what a quote makes me think what I am burying while I am still trying to live…
how you see things is beautiful.
Thanks. Yep, any mention of food starts me thinking about food. Like now. I just ate lunch a half-hour ago and I’m hungry again.
The only grass that grows in the city is in the graveyard.
Love the picture. There is so much texture to the building and frost on the grass – beautiful. Interesting quote.
Hi!
okay, let’s go. book two round trip tickets to spain. you and me. italy! oh bless, how fun would that be?

Hmm. I like the composition of this photograph. Particularly the way the snow (is it snow?) in the foreground and the light-colored limestone building contrast with the earth colors behind. Old knarled oak tree overlooking all. Very thoughtful
Your juxtaposition of quotation and image is always thought-provoking. Thanks again for sharing.
