And in that line now was a whiskered old man, with a linen cap and a crooked nose, who waited in a place called the Stardust Band Shell to share his part of the secret of heaven: that each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one.

reminds me of the gnarled trees that hang over the potomac river by my house in virginia…thanks
I like this tree. I’ll bet it’d look good in color too.
:heartbeat: loved that story.
a turtle’s hair. a rabbit’s horn.
The quote means nothing to me, but this photo is full of concepts.
I may need to go ahead and read that book. Which reminds me, I’ve been meaning to go to the used book store.
I’m hoping there was some SERIOUS hipshakingaction with the Elvis song!
Neat shot
:sunny: I have always loved driftwood. It’s a natural art for sure.
I do believe that we are all connected in one way or another. All our stories ARE one. My joy is your joy, my suffering also. I must share my story so that others know I believe this to be true.

I love coming here….
very profound… I’m struck deeply by image and word.
ive just read that book. it was both healing, sad, hurtful and yet loving.
i think we are all connected. dont you?
Color cannot compare to b&w when it comes to a shot like this. I love the texture and the tonal range. The perspective and depth of field are also wonderful. And that quote reminds me of reading VeryModern’s blog for some reason. Great post!
A very interesting photo. And some pictures just BEG to be in B&W rather than color.
Oh! Oh! Oh! I read that book!

Aside from my love of stones and rocks, I would have to say wood comes next. Beautiful shot!
bark+book=excellent all the way around.
cool pic, i’m kind of into gnarled wood right now too. also like the quote from a great book. my older sister is sort of my spiritual guide and that book was the latest in a long line of great reads she’s sent.
