This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one;
the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature
instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not
devote itself to making you happy. George Bernard Shaw

Love the photo. It reminds me of my boyhood in South Dakota.
He has some of the best quotes. I have a few painted on my walls.
“feverish little clod of ailments” is right. on. I like the phot of the outbuilding–is it a shed, or is it a shelter of some kind?
that is an amazing shot… look how the fall of the land is reflected in the angle of the roof… and the colours!!!
great pic..reminds me of remnants of an old coal mine or something..would be cool in black and white
lovely
I’m a bean. A human bean.
thats an awesome shot, i love pictures like that out in the middle of nowhere!
old barns and sheds really grab me, especially if they’re angled. and acutely angled outbuilding gets me everytime. and gray wood. very cool.
That’s beautiful!
my dad always used to reinforce with me a similar quote that while not so elegant went something like…
oh bugger it, i can’t remember at all how it went, but the meat of it was having stuff is worthless unless you use the stuff for it’s purpose or a purpose of self expression…
:goodjob: I like the pic . . . I could live there, it’s like a hermit’s place.
WOW! That REALLY almost looks that the shed at my parents ranch!!
I’m addicted to green. LOVE it! ..kytti..
:sunny:that is a great pic….I love walking around buildings like that and wondering what went on in the past.
Love the quote AND the photo.
i always believed that good will always prevail… although sometimes the evilness of things and people can bruise.. i still think HIS way is better..
this picture makes me wish i could look at that place in person..
Hm. Reminds me of NDM’s photo. With the tiltness and all. Makes me wanna straighten it.
yes! True happiness comes from within yourself. :heartbeat::)
I love that color green… Beautiful, beautiful. (But of course how many times have I heard that at my art sales and thought, ‘yeah yeah… but will you BUY it?‘ lol)
On my last shoot I added the grain to each of my shots… It was all about garbage and alleyways and stormy weather and progress.
P.S. Your smile is so lovely!!
Well, all I can do is jump on the wagon of compliments. This is great, both the photo and the quote. kudos… :sunny:
I am truly enjoying how you captured the overcaast day. The greens just POP while the grays sit back and keep the green from falling down. I am wondering though if you used photoshop to desaturate some areas or extra saturate the greens or is this just straight shooting?? Either way…nicely done
thanks for the comments…i plan to print this on a large scale, maybe 18 x 24 or something a little smaller..it’s going to great, the colors are so perfect
Great picture! :goodjob:
Fabulous. It really takes talent and heart to find words and capture images that are so alluring and striking together. Another good job! :sunny:
How was poker night? Did you win any hands? Is that how it’s said?
