  • Ever since we crawled out of that primordial slime, that’s been our unifying cry, “More light.” Sunlight. Torchlight. Candlight. Neon, incandescent lights that banish the darkness from our caves to illuminate our roads, the insides of our refrigerators. Big floods for the night games at Soldier’s field. Little tiny flashlights for those books we read under the covers when we’re supposed to be asleep. Light is more than watts and footcandles. Light is metaphor. Light is knowledge, light is life, light is light. Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, Northern Exposure, Northern Lights, 1993

    * sidenote: this photo was originally taken at night with only the streetlight to illuminate

  • the photo came out very well considering the situation.

  • light is light.  now that’s heavy.

I’m either going to presume you use photshop extensively or that you have a hella ‘spensive camera that does cool stuff in the dark.  I’m not sure which one I’m going to presume.  I just am, so I feel better.

  • OOohh.. I really like that photo.

  • Yet another lovely and clever combination of your way with images and lovely words! :sunny: <—-(light)

  • I bet people smile everytime they come here.

    Love that smile.                              ..kytti..

  • I like that photo. I’m curious about the sepia tone of some of your photographs. Do you take B/W and give them a sepia tone with chemicals or do you use an editing program to give the sepia tone to the digital image? You always have such great pictures :heartbeat:

  • photoshop?  no way.  you’re just intenselly cool.  no, intensily hot.  wait, how the hell do you spell intensely?  intensily?  oh, now this is silly.   or is it selly?  :)

poems make me sad most of the time too.  it’s isn’t you, it’s me.

  • A beautiful photo and lovely kitty!!

Northern Exposure was the best :>)

Hope your peeling of epidermus layers subside and your inner light continues to come out.:sunny:

  • wonderful quote, wonderful photo… AS USUAL… LOL :goodjob:

  • What a wonderful picture… what do you shoot with?:coolman:    are you self taught?  I’m just curious, you have some great images.

  • I just had to say a little thank you out loud.  Light is Light.  I guess I should be thankful for everything it illuminates.

You know I’m a crazy kitty person.  My cat only wishes I could take photos like that.  I just had the biggest smile looking at that little face.

  • Lovely photo (esp. using what light you had) and quote!

  • Great shot, and thank you for your kind words.

  • :sunny:Another great Northern Exposure quote *Sigh* I love that show. The photograph is excellent.:heartbeat:

  • here kitty kitty.  at least the kitty is inside…not loitering right outside the door, then looking at your askance and all haughty when you open up the door for her…nice photo, good grain.

  • When one goes through an NDE, there is brilliant Light to show the way…

  • nice photo. I love the cat’s expression. Or is it the light? :)

I worked a job once where reading a scale divided into hundreths of an inch. I could easily read it. Then, I had to move into the best light to read it, later I had to be in direct sunlight before I could. Then, it turned into a gray blur.

For this aged person the wish is always for more light I think, except when I look into the mirror.

  •

you’re too kind.  really.  i mean it.

  •  Really like this photo & not just because it has a cat in it. It’s cheerful, old-fashioned, symbolic, inviting. Causes a pleasant feeling inside.

  • Gotta agree with a.i.m.

  • Let’s not forget the love light.

  • Love it. The cat is pretty clear for a slow shutter speed.

  • Very nice shot. The cat remindes me very much of our Clhoe who is no longer with us. Cheers. Oh, I’m going to e-mail the poem to you.

  • The quote is nice, but I particularly love the kitty photo. I am a sucker for all animals, particularly cats.
