Probably the happiest period in life most frequently is in middle age, when the eager passions of youth are cooled, and the infirmities of age not yet begun; as we see that the shadows, which are at morning and evening so large, almost entirely disappear at midday. Thomas Arnold

Is that YOU? (in the profile pic) I love the photo.
By the way, I’d really like to see the shadows disappear more often. Great quote. The photo is really beautiful; I like the solitude that it represents to me.
:heartbeat:Nice shot!
Hey just noticed the new profile picture too
so cute!
nice i like this one a lot. great job
Gotta be you in that profile pic…the smile is exactly the same!
Love the quote!
Who is the cutie in the profile pic? Adorable kid.
Love the photo and the quote.
:sunny:
I love the quote with the photo. As one who is deep in the shadow of the end of it all, I still appreciate the middle of the day when the sun is brightest and the warmest. I like the shine of the bannister and the old wood floor boards.
Some things that bring light into the shadows is the smile of a child, the hand of a friend, or the kiss of a lover.
’tis me in the profile pick for those of you who wondered! and according to what’s written on the back in my handwriting, i am eating a peanut butter sandwitch!
i like how you lead the eye to a wonderful window full of light. nice shot!
Perfect words for me today.
Have a wonderful weekend.
hmmm, but PHOTOGRAPHY is so much better in the morning & evening…
I love the new profile pic, how cute! Is that little Molly, or someone else?
If I could just figure out where the beginning leaves off and the middle begins, and guess where it all might end, then that quote might begin to make sense to me, but….
I like that picture! Very creepy but it’s cool! :sunny: I don’t take pictures of things, unfortunately, but I can edit them in photoshop!
An incredible picture. Mystical and eerie but somehow hopeful. I have a lot to learn.
wonderful quote and picture!! they fit very well together
…wonderful profile pic, Molly. You were a beautiful, delighted child  – kudos to you, you’ve managed to carry the “peanut butter” with you in the person you are NOW!
…wonderful pic and quote. :goodjob: May the sun forever shine on us ALL. :heartbeat: MuSe
I can’t wait to be middle aged. Everyone thinks I’m strange for it, but in some ways, youth has lost it’s allure to me.
I love that photo. It’s comforting.

Great profile pic, and love the photograph.
i’ve decided that your profile pic looks like a commercial….you know…something to the effect of: “an apple a day keeps the dentist away” and then they turn the camera to you with your perfect smile…. xoxoxo
or is it “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”… hmmmmm
The juxtapostion of an uplifting quote with a stark & empty photo is masterful & thought provoking.
