  • I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction
we are moving — we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it –
but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.
    Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.

  • awesome pic and quote hun. You’re enjoying your time in Cal , I can tell he he…
Auckland is our largest city, about million people, its 1 hr flight or 8 hour drive. but flying is expensive here….boo hoo, I homesick already.

  • Last Saturday the winds were quite stiff in our part of Normandy, and there were loads of people with these parasailboards and ski-kites soaring back and forth across the water.  Bright colored sails and kites coloring the sky.  Every now and then one flipped over, but they’d just get up, straighten things out, and off they’d go again.  Sail we must.  Indeed.

  • P.S. I hope your brother’s doing better by now.

  • and soon I will… as soon as the wind picks up.

  • I think I am sailing with the wind right now, in ways, while fighting against it in others. Picking my battles in a way.

Take care! Love the shot – that goes without saying doesn’t it?

  • So very true.  I struggle to understand those who drift or lie at anchor.  I’m always wanting to sneak down and lift their anchor or blow in their sails.  Give me the wind and let me grow!  It’s the stuff of life!    Love the picture!

  • Is that a kite? That’s awesome. It’s in perfect formation!

  • i think that to be true. that we must always be moving, feeling, thinking..to be ever constant in being. to be stagnant, idle breeds doubt of self… how are you able to gather all these quotes?

  • i love the kite- i love all kites. As always a beautiful post.

  • Sometimes I just wish….

  • Sure, I’ll sneak you in with me.  It’ll be fun.

And where’s the person that goes with this ‘chute?  Or is it a kite?  Yikes!
