Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach – waiting for a gift from the sea. Excerpt from Gifts from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Yes, Yes, Yes, I love the sea- but how hard to lie empty- life’s challenge.

Oh that is stunning!
Such rich colors! I love the ‘sea’. Although here it’s the ‘ocean’. Funny how that is. We haven’t spent much time there this summer. I have not heard of that book. I must look it up.
Yes, one should. It’s wonderful when one does.
gorgeous… even living at its very edge, i never tire of the sea.
beautiful images, beautiful words. i’ve subscribed to give myself a daily dose of beauty, to combat the crap and negativity that is so easy to absorb just by walking down the street.
thank you. (and thanks for stopping by…)
I like it. I’m going to try to lie open tonight.
Yes, but the right person oil the gears fo release.
i’d like the ocean more, if it weren’t so damned noisy.
I love watching the waves come in
lovely pic and the quote has started me thinking
Maybe I should look for that book
This expresses exactly how I’ve been feeling when I throw the watch off. Montreal is amazing. I was there in July (probably just missed you by a couple of weeks!) and that is exactly when the whole pursuit of timelessness began. What an interesting coincidence. =)
There is something in the earthmother pulse of the waves.
I love that photo! Perfect ! @-}-}—
its postcard-esque. beautious.
I’ve never read that book, but I also love the sea… I hope I never have to live far from it, but I’m not going to count on that…
(and… what’s the PhotoShop trick? *leans in for the whisper* )
hehe…sounds like somebody is calling you out for photoshop-in’…the hues are amazingly deep, and a wonderful contrast…very soothing
That’s one of my favorite books. I’ve given it to several women friends. I wish I could jump into your picture right now. I’m sitting here with a fan on me, and still perspiring! Yuk.
hmm…what a beautiful thought…I’m planning to move away from the big, crowded city I live in to a smaller town near the sea… How welcome your photo is!
Lovely picture, and intriguing thought. Thank you – and thanks for dropping by.
Wonderful photo. It almost seems alive. I love the sea too…the sound, the smell and cool breeze.
fantastic colour and light here hun….I miss summer *sob*
wouldn’t it be beautiful if we could be… open and choiceless? to be led by a force far greater than us and not be worried where it will take us…
lovely thought. maybe it will be attainable..
thank you for your unwavering comfort..
ahh the sea..so soothing..so inspiring
Oh, how absolutely lovely. The saturation in the colors is amazing!

incredible
When I was in college, several of my friends read Gift from the Sea and loved it. I tried to read it – wanted to read it – but just could not get into it. I wonder if I could now.
