Talk not of wasted affection, affection never was wasted,
If it enrich not the heart of another, its waters returning
Back to their springs, like the rain shall fill them full of refreshment;
That which the fountain sends forth returns again to the fountain.

Oh, Henry! You said a mouthful that time. Real love and affection can’t be given away.
Is the flower a trillium? It looks to be. Very tiny flower with much beauty.
It looks so delicate and fragile. Goes with the quote well though.
Is Adam the capenter fitting out your carpet?
Beautiful photograph. I think I’ve asked it before but can’t remember getting a reply – do you take them all yourself?
absolutely gorgeous!
You are amazing. Really. I always look forward to pleasuring my aesthetic side by visiting your site.
The trilliums are blooming here too. I was shooting some, including the burgundy variety, a few days ago… Official flower of Ontario, btw.
oh beauty!
Lovely image and lovely thought. We could all stand a bit more appreciation for each other, I think.
Thanks for being consistently wonderful to visit.
Expressions of one sort or another are necessary to life.
The trillium is a ~beautiful~ flower. Unfortunately it’s illegal to dig them up otherwise our backyard would be full of them.
Longfellow was right.
a beautiful quote…..and that’s such a beautiful flower…..i love walking around the garden after a good rain!
I think letting the people you care about know it, even if it makes you look and feel like a dork, is one of the most important things!
This is such a delicate and pure flower… very special shape and lines on the petals. Nature is wonderful and spring time is just full of discoveries of new life every day. I suppose flowers are signs of affection from the great creator
.
