René Lévesque IMMEDIATELY came to mind when I saw the pic. He used to do that all the time.
Wonderful quote. Nah…that has to be a picture of Mr. Spock’s hands.
We must both be in the mood for a little Latin, eh? That is a very nice quote.
whose hands are those? I want to touch them. beautiful picture.
I love the pic
never really understood the feeling of being intimate with oneself but once i connected my fingers i felt an intensity of electricity running through me. if you don’t know what i mean, try it out and allow yourself to feel and hear what’s going through your body. it’s a beautiful thing.
beautiful quote for a beautiful picture!
that is an incredible image….nice work
nice blog
It reminds me of that childhood game…
“Here’s the church and here’s the steeple. Open the door and see all the people.”
“Mirror, mirror on the wall….”
It’s not a pair of hands after all, is it?
what a photo! even if i wanted to take pictures of hands, i don’t think this angle would ever have come into my mind… *sigh* yet another example of how much you can learn just from observing amazing work by a professional.
Happiness you can touch. Poignant.
I do believe that we choose every day how much happiness we will allow in. We choose to look at the good or the bad, the blessing or the curse, the beauty or the ugliness, the sweet or the bitter. Good quotation, and fits the hands well! Thanks, Molly!
great pick.
love the lighting. nice detail once you click on it.
Ooohh my back is itchy! A scratch right now would make me happy!
my sentiments exactly!!!!! and that is one fantastic photo!!!!!
…quote to photo, Molly! Everything starts in the mind, doesn’t it? …you have me stumped with the church quote. Only offering, maybe the arm is reaching out to us??? MuSe
PS…well, left off the first word above, and the most important -”excellent”! M
eek… “little happy things” is a link but doesn’t show up as a different color…
A recent radio programme on “happiness” concluded that happy people scored low on “neuroticism” and high on “extroversion”. Boring conclusion – where is art, philosophy, literature??? Tom
awesome quote- i’m cuttin pastin that one into my screen saver marquee right now
thanks :D
What a soulful picture and a deep thought. I like both very much. I think I need to exercise more on my way of thinking .
heh hands do seem to be a common theme right now…they always make interesting subjects. Great lighting in ur photo.
Southland, I’m happy, but, I would be extremely much more so with the last 3 nights of really good sleep. small things make a huge difference. peace
My husband and I were just talking about this yesterday. You are happy or unhappy because of the decisions you make and the way you see the world, not because of anything external. How sad to be unhappy!
I bought a book with sayings by Marcus Aurelius Antoninus in New York, it was a great read.
Wonderful form and shadow in the photograph. Whose hands are they?
Amazing pic… and the slogan of my life!
Have a nice day!
Great photo.
Marcus Aelius Aurelius Antoninus, was born in 121, was adopted by the emperor Antoninus Pius and succeeded him in 161, (as joint emperor with adoptive brother Lucius Verus). He ruled alone from 169. He spent much of his reign in putting down various rebellions, and was a persecutor of Christians. His fame rest, above all, on his Meditations, a series of reflections, strongly influenced by Epictetus, which represent a Stoic outlook on life. He died in 180 and was succeed by his natural son, thus ending the period of the adoptive emperors.
nice blog.
You have a wonderful knack for matching words to your photography.. they often add a theme or context which is different from my original impressions. This piece at first made me think of peaceful things ~ I find symmetry soothing ~ but after reading the quotation below I saw it in a new light. Both are beautiful!
very nice…thanks for stopping by & saying hello…especially since i’ve found a great place to visit!
Peace…PJ
Great photo.
(As for Lise’s comment, how could René Lévesque possibly ever do that? I thought that he had a cigarette permanently grafted to one hand!)
Oooh, what a great quote and picture…lovely!
Incredible photo, inspiring quote. Those Romans really knew a thing or two, didn’t they?
