You must keep sending work out; you must never let a manuscript do nothing but eat its head off in a drawer. You send that work out again and again, while you’re working on another one. If you have talent, you will receive some measure of success – but only if you persist. Isaac Asimov

A door for opportunity to knock on!
I love the pairing of the quote with this photo.
I also love your new profile pic….very nice
!
Ah, very nice. Good reminders.
I’ll avoid the obvious “nice knockers” joke here, but I think you’ve inspired me for my site. Thanks.

I think that perhaps I needed to see that quote. It certainly gives me something to think about. Thank you.
definitely something i need drilled into my head!!!!
Good advice. Persistence is usually a virtue, I think.
I guess if it sits long enough in a drawer you could get spontaneous combustion. I guess you can’t get success as a result of spontaneous combustion, you gotta set yourself on fire.
I think it was Churchill who said, “Never give up.” Good advice! When you move back to the US, where will you go?
Love the photo, love the quote! I guess I should really heed that piece of advice since writing a book is my senior project and that’s due in May… :- oh help…
Thanks for reading my posts by the way! That was super sweet! Hmmm… would you be glad to be moving back to Long Beach from Canada? I don’t think I would be for some reason but that’s just me…
persistence is the key, wonderful
As always, delightful picture AND quote.
So I went to Catholic Mass in Iowa a few weekends ago. No confession yet though
What a door knocker! @-}-}–
“…do nothing but eat its head off in a drawer.” What a great quote!

“What knockers!”
“Vhy, sank you doctor.”
Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
Ahhh…Isaac is long one of my favorites. As usual his advice is sound and on the money. I always start a manuscript at the top and then work my way down the ladder, ending up with the semi-pro and small press publications. It takes a long time, but really increases the possibility that someone will buy it.
wonderful photo and excellent advice. i think i’ll take that advice
…marvelous coupling again and again and again and…! :ee: :ee: :ee:
