People who cease to believe in God or goodness altogether still believe in the devil. I don’t know why. No, I do indeed know why. Evil is always possible. And goodness is eternally difficult. Anne Rice
wonderful quote from my favourite author! how was your weekend??? i hope you all enjoyed it!!!!
Great quote…though, I’ll always believe in the good.
ooh, smart woman, that Anne Rice.
Oh that is great! I love that devil guy.
Great shot! Was that decorating the local branch office of Microsoft?
Pic. turned out great! It’s weird seeing it posted after seeing you take the picture. But where are the legs???
Your quote is eerily timed… ties in with a recent conversation with another friend… weird! Just for the record: you already know that I do not believe in God, gods or godesses, but that I do believe in goodness. On the flip side, I do not believe in the Devil or evil.
He turned out great — especially when enlarged — there’s something about him that still makes me smile! Anyway… just got up… not fully awake yet…
…great photo – makes me chuckle. This can’t be the same devil Anne speaks of. Your “Devil” looks to be all colour and no phoof for evil. And he has legs??? What was that you were saying about photographers…? …always avoided reading Anne Rice, vampires and things that go bump in the night. At a book signing, in a local bookstore, Anne Rice fans where dressed in Gothic and other same milieu. Being a person of light versus of dark, the fan club only confirmed my impression of the author’s work. However, the quotation you used did give me pause, but only slightly. I disagree with Anne, don’t think “goodness”, as in light, more difficult than evil – it’s simply a matter of choice. Goodness is an equal opportunity virtue. MuSe
Don’t know which is best, the photo, the quote or some of the comments. Especially Ikend. I agree with her wholeheartedly.
We are free to choose. And as for not believing in God. Please. It’s not a good choice for me. I NEED a supreme being to help me get through this life.
Quickest way to get in touch with God. Knee-Mail.(From Bonnie’s journal.)
What a smirky smile! heh
just passing through- love your photos…
what a photo! what a sculpture! it looks like the devil of temptation
It was fun to read about Lise and Jackie’s visit to you this past weekend. You are a woman of many talents–and your culinary skills surprise me, even if all I could taste was the digital images of that honey glazed chicken… ahhhh!
Gotta love Anne Rice.
You know… I was taught this not too long ago: There is God and Satan… either you side with one or the other. There is no grey area… It’s black or white. That simple. I choose the Light.
Great pic. I do believe that goodness is possible and indeed quite likely, in spite of current world events.
Is this a subliminal comment on your weekend?
I’ve just come from PPr
Roger and the Devil eh. Off to visit pprjayo now.
I just came back for another look having visited pprjayo and discovered Arousal was the theme of the weekend (by wit). On second look that devil looks very like my ex husband, do you think it could have been modelled from the life?
I like that photo, but the subject unnerves me….his smirk, I think.
BTW, how did you cook that squash you made for Lise and Jackie? It looked really yummy. I can never figure out how to cook squash.
so how do you find these quotes?
are you just a memory bank of them or something?
Hey! How did you get so close you could take that excellent photo of George Bush??
