I know I can always count on finding a superbly soothing image and words here…. thank you!
I love the votive candles in churches. So many places have gone to the electric kind who’s artificial flicker annoys me a little. I think it’s to satisfy insurance companies that think real candles are a fire hazard.
But that lovely light and the smell of the wax burning is what reminds us of our souls burning for Christ with the hot zeal of Christianity. Not an electric switch that only takes a flick of finger to start it’s artificial imitation of the candle.
And I am thinking there is a certain sort of warmth that is there from all that many candles. Right? Comforting, isn’t it?

Mother Teresa was so wise…
funny, my mom’s name is Teresa, but she doesn’t say stuff like that.
Thank you for the wonderful quote. If there is one thing the world needs to hear today, that would be it!
And each flame is a prayer.
…such a graceful thought to embrace and give life to photo. Well done, Molly. MuSe
I have not forgotten!
True, true. Amazing that they tried to slander that woman so. *tsk* *tsk*
Beautiful photo, beautiful words!
She will be canonized in October of this year, I believe. Yes, if only we understood that we are all interconnected. Love the pic. You are so very talented!
religious iconography…i love it!!! there is something so inately spiritual about candles…i suppose that is why they use them……
Mother Tereasa, may I meet her some day. (in Heaven of course
I kept looking at the candles and wondering if those are in red glass or clear glass..

Does that help though? It also requires people to remind us. Thanks for the reminder. LOL!
Interesting shot. Love the shadows in the foreground. Great quote, too.
