“Someday, after mastering winds, waves, tides and gravity, we shall harness the energy of love; and for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
These two shots were taken on my recent trip to California. I was up early on my way to the chiropractor and stopped along Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. There were surfers galore a mile up from me, but at this stretch of beach it was desolate. This time of year in CA it is almost always overcast and cool in the mornings. I moved from Gulf Coast to West Coast, guess I’m a coast gal. I love the ocean and hope to explore the East Coast while I’m out this way.

I can’t wait for that day that Teilhard de Chardin talks about… alas, it probably won’t be in this lifetime… (This is a favorite quote of mine, btw…)
I like the mood captured in your two pics. Beaches don’t have to be sun-drenched to be worthy of our attention.
Love the sound of waves. Suppose during a storm I wouldn’t. I have only been to Port Isabel and stood in the gulf. I want to go back but no restrooms on the way down. Or darned few anyway.
Thanks for your comment in my guestbook. I think you are right about the Zen thing. I am still learning. I will always be learning. Isn’t that the beauty of it?
Great pics, but I am not surprised
…wonderful pics!!!!! Love the quotation, thanks for sharing.

that’s exactly how it looks here today
only without the lovely beach and ocean of course!
