  • I live by my wits. I have to be sharp and clever, lest I go hungry. I have to think things out, catch what I can, take what comes. From Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White

…thought I’d start off the Halloween festivities with this lovely specimen! Looks a bit pixely to me on screen…oh well…that’s how the pixel crumbles!

I am leaving tomorrow morning for 2 weeks. So if I don’t post for a few days, that’s the reason! First I will go to visit family in Texas and go to my high school reunion, then I will go to California to do some work and see my extended family. I will try to post from CA from time to time!

    Michel

  • Whoa!    It is indeed a curious photo, Molly.   Now would someone please tell me what else Michel wrote?   I get the “bon voyage” part too.    But that’s all.

  • “For a man to attain to
    an eminent degree in learning
    costs him
    time, watching, hunger, nakedness,
    dizziness in the head,
    weakness in the stomach,
    and other inconveniences.”
    – Miguel De Cervantes

  • What Michel said:

    Interesting photo indeed.

The preceding appears to be the fruits of the European spindle-tree (euonymus europeus) or its American cousin.

As for the mushrooms (pre-preceding photo) they must be Black Inky Caps.

    Bon voyage.

I don’t know if you speak French.

(Michel, I hope I translated your words accurately? Lise)

  • Clarification:

My quote by Cervantes was in response to Molly’s quote by White, not to Michel’s learning English!!

  • what a cool picture! i love it!!!! have a great time on your holiday!!!! see you when you get a chance to get online!!!!!
