  • If you are yourself at peace, then there is at least some peace in the world. Then share
your peace with everyone, and everyone will be at peace.
    Thomas Merton

This photo was taken in the St. Francis of Assisi garden next to the Old North Church in Boston, Massachusetts. It was a small, quiet garden filled with peace.

  • I don’t mean to be irreverent, but it looks as if one of St. Francis’ animal friends have bitten the hand that feeds them.

I have only been to Boston once and it was a flying trip through on the freeway.   Another place to see on my loooong list of things to see one of these days.

    XXXXOOOOO

  • I noticed that too…but also notice that he STILL loves the animals!

  • Well look at what ~you~ posted! Is this International St Francis of Assisi Day or what? ? ? ! ! ! . . . s – c – a – r – y . . . ! ! !

  • is the bird on his shoulder real? or is it part of the statue? i can’t really tell it’s a lovely photo though….i love the brick background to it!

  • I’m more aware of peaceful places now than ever before. Cool pics.

  • …supposedly when asked what he (St Francis) would do if he knew the end of the world was coming: “I’d be right here tending my garden”. MuSe

  • :sunny: thanks for pointing me this way, nearly 2 years later. Wise man, that St.Francis.
