  • My faithful companion of 11 years, Roger.

When I was a very young kitten I had the misfortune to lose my mother and find myself alone in the world at the age of six weeks. However, I was not unduly disturbed by this, since I was intelligent, not ill-favored, resourceful and full of confidence in myself. Also, I had had the advantage of several weeks of instruction from my mother before her unfortunate encounter with a motorcar at night.

After a week or so of living in the country off a most revolting diet of grubs and insects, I determined to take over a family and become a house cat, and I set about immediately to achieve my goals.

  • “Don’t, like the cat, try to get more out of an experience than there is in it. The cat, having sat upon a hot stove lid, will not sit upon a hot stove lid again. Nor upon a cold stove lid.” — Mark Twain

  • P.S. Molly, I have some questions for you over here:)

  • aww…what a beautiful cat!!!!!!

  • Did we raise an artistic kid or WHAT?   Nice photo!    Did I give you your copy of the “Silent Meow”?    I hope you visit Lise and read her parrallel story having to do with your Roger and her friend named Roger.   She is a super neat gal and I really think may be our long lost daughter and thus your sister.

Naturally, I am saving the photo.   What do you think she is pondering?

  • She (cat-Roger is a “she” for those of you who may not know) … she is pondering:

“Is it worth my while to activate my very comfortable and very lazy body to pounce on that spider down there? Naw…”

  • P.S. — My brother and I went around for a while when we were 12-13 or so, telling everybody in town we were adopted. My mother was not amused!

  • wonderful photo !!

  • Beautiful!  Kat
