  • end of summer okra

All still when summer is over
    stand shocks in the field,
    nothing left to whisper,
not even good-bye, to the wind.

    After summer was over
    we knew winter would come:
    we knew silence would wait,
    tall, patient calm.

  • Good-bye, summer.  Come back when you can’t stay longer!

  • We are to get some 40 degree temps in a few days.    I don’t like sox but I may be forced to get them out.    Thanks for the pix you sent.    Mom

  • Undoubtedly okra from your mom’s garden that was flourishing a couple months ago.  Our yard looks so dead and ugly, and two months ago we were just getting a nice green Bermuda grass covering.  We just had dirt dumped to fill in the washouts and it looks very sick.  Hopefully some good, beneficial rains will happen before too long and we will start to get coverage once again.

  • Now that’s fried okra!

  • I’m still hanging on to the green pieces I see in the pic…

    Autum should last for months….

I hope you enjoyed your time with your mom,

    be well Molly,
