Manzanita and lichen in the rain

Beautiful…
I adore the word “lichen”.
And also “loden”, which it always reminds me of.

i’ve never heard of that word so i looked it up
thanks, i’ll try to play it in scrabble!
I love manzanita for the color and texture of the bark. Funny sad story about me and mazanita is I made a menorah out of branches of it for a friend and the candles burned down low unattended and the branches caught fire. Luckily someone noticed the impending conflagration and it was extinguished in time before any serious damage could be done.
Loden… I have a Loden coat and it is of course green.
I got it when I lived in Bavaria. It was the hip thing to do at the time.
Oh yeah. this is what that coat looks like.

when I glanced at this picture from the side, I thought it was fancy couture shoes at first…
I like that it’s trees better.
