  • I love weathered wood.

  • I love that pic. The way the wood all fits together is great.

  • I know about being worn.    My years have worn me into the person I am now, like the waves shape the shore.    And as for being worn “out”, that comes later, I suppose when I am finally the person I am supposed to be, after changing and learning all these years.

I am renewed by every sunrise.

Lovely image, the old wood and the new flower.   The wood will endure much longer than the flower, but the flower has seeds by which it renews itself.

  • the lao-tzu quote made me remember a quote i came across once in a biography of a photographer, and i just had to spend a half-hour digging it out. :)

it might be interesting to assess how many artists emerge from a point in their lives when they can say,
    “my whole world collapsed”.

ryc about the fisherman–yes, no pole. i was doing a photo essay on some fish and game people and he was watching them.  when i asked him who he was,  he said “an interested fisherman”.

  • oh – I will have to remember this .. I am renewing myself – or preparing anyway as I wear myself out. Thank you – great photo! ~ Diane CLancy

  • That red…that stunning red jutting into the composition — the daring of that red! Fantastic image!!
