A woman’s whole life is a history of the affections. The heart is her world: it is there her ambition strives for empire; it is there her avarice seeks for hidden treasures. She sends forth her sympathies on adventure; she embarks her whole soul on the traffic of affection; and if shipwrecked, her case is hopeless — for it is a bankruptcy of the heart. Washington Irving

lovely quote. that boat looks like it has a lot of history.
Thought I wouldn’t say this is true for every woman… it is CERTAINLY true for me!
But of course… you already knew that!
what a great boat…
ah,, the stories it could tell…

yeah been looking at real esate but haven’t been able to find a decent one at the right price. The prices are just way to high especially in the LA area. Thanks for your comment.
So true.
do you think that’s true?
Great quote! And I recognize the boat, of course. Your ears were probably burning just a couple of days ago when we passed Esther’s and your dad and I remembers how you like the soft shell crabs so much.
I lead with my heart, as this quote seems to say. I think most women do. We hold a lot inside, but our heart is there for everyone to see it and to take advantage of it. I had never thought of a bankrupt heart, but that must be what causes so much pain when someone hurts us.
ryc: Yes it certainly is the worst. I’m coping though.
Great pic and quote as usual.
I think it is mostly true, all but the last part. But it was written by a man, and we generally don’t have a clue what is really going on.
There was a quote I remember from a movie I saw (can’t remember what it was) that went something like, “Men see life as a box; women see life as a round room.”
I wonder why Washingon Irving was so in tune with the reality of what a woman is indeed all about? And what a timeless statement the quote is, isn’t it? ~ Jeanne
quick dip into inspiration

That picture takes me back to the summer days of my childhood spent on the tidewaters of the Chesapeake… that was so long ago there were still fish crabs and oysters in the bay..
i am not sure what to think about that quote …
RYC that information was frightening to me..yet it answered a bunch of questions i had about what could have happened .. and rases a few more..
i hope its totally wrong
Lovely quote. Judi
Galveston? That says as much as the quote.
Nice quote and picture certainly is true for me. Judi
Is this shot from when you and S went to Texas?
What an interesting quote. I like the picture a lot too.
I am a sucker for boat pictures. We spent a lot of time on the Mississippi River as children.
Molly, I’m guessing you have pictures of your kitty but be sure you have pictures of you and your kitty together. I realized suddenly that I didn’t and took a few and I am so glad.
My sis has a kitty who is 17-1/2 and still spry and sassy.
i have a huge thing for boats like this one.
that’s all.
and, hello.
oh yes, as always you find the right words to speak, and shine through to my soul. thanks, april
